I deleted my LinkedIn Comments,
Though I meant them for someone to read,
I deleted my LinkedIn Comments,
Because LinkedIn is still not Indeed.
Oh,
I deleted my LinkedIn Comments,
While distracted by the pro-Elon bleed,
I deleted my LinkedIn Comments,
Because the bank is still holding my deed.
“Sir, Good Sir,
My name is Manu Gupta,
I live in the great land of India,
(…International Sales Manager, Accounts, Economist,
Researcher and Planner for Healthcare Services, Wholesale Medicine Sales…)
A position I assure you is swell,
And for attention and metrics I wanted to say,
That I have a story to tell.
You see Mr. Musk receives no compensation,
For the great work he is doing with DOGE,
Yet sir his focus is not on the money,
Even though it may appear so, I know.
He is driven - yes driven,
By the goal of making us proud,
A significant impact
Ensuring the survival…of humanity.”
I deleted my LinkedIn Comments,
They weren’t of the appropriate breed,
I deleted my LinkedIn Comments,
They can’t be hidden from my activity feed.
For the past 8 months I have religiously deleted my comments 2-3 days after making them under the false assumption that they were causing me to remain unemployed. They are always on posts about Elon Musk or Generative AI. LinkedIn was once a place you met recruiters, found jobs, and posted about successes. Now the feed is just full of bot traffic, Indian nationals posting gushing love letters about Musk, or if you are me, 2nd and 3rd degree CEOs gloating about the latest Trump administration kickback or economic tweak in their favor. Most recently I commented on a post that showed a video of Trump palming a gold bar into the hands of a marine while stepping onto Air Force One. The post bragged about how Trump had “changed that marine’s life” … in a by gone era they called it bribery. I don’t think the Marine Corp wants to be known that it takes tips. Why the CEO of a defense aerospace company would think posting that had any level of class (other than class warfare), and it came with the caption “If you don’t like it you have TDS*” on LinkedIn. Truly beyond professionalism.
* TDS stands for “Trump Derangement Syndrome”, a gaslighting term that is the equivalent of “librul tears”
