I stand for Liberty and Freedom
I stand for Trump
I stand for Free Speech
I stand for Big Oil

My home state is Texas
My gender is Male *(though legally, Female)
My smile is genuine
My degree is in Government

You are the cameraman
You are the best President
You are holding a sign that says “This is not normal”
You are not allowed to say that!

She is just standing there
She is from my neighbor New Mexico
She shouldn’t be allowed to do that
She can’t hold it for long

We stand for the People
We represent them “real Good”
We are keeping up appearances
We can’t have her sign there

Her speech is not fair
Her speech is not good
Her speech is not valued
Her speech is not allowed

Time to get personal
Time to reach over
Time for me to take it down
Time for me to throw it in the air

The Whole World is Watching

This polipoem is inspired by events on March 4th, 2025 (“March 4th for Democracy”), when the President of the United States requested his Majority Leader to permit a speech to Congress that was erroneously called the “State of the Union” and was really just a rehashing of his campaign speeches, and a parade of guests who were held up as a sign that he wasn’t really ruining America. During President Trump’s entrance, New Mexico Representative Melanie Stansbury, a democrat, stood back and held up a sign that read “This is Not Normal”, and Texas Representative Lance Gooden reached across the aisle and ripped it away from her tossing the piece of paper into the air.
